I've created a resume, but not in a few years, anyone know how to do it? I know the cover letter and things, just not the actual way to make them presentable. Lol mine's so stupid two years of community colege, graduated high school.
I can send you mine without the details in it if you like, so you can use it as a template. The format's been approved by the Placements Office and Careers service at my University. Mail me if you want it and I'd be happy to help.
I was going to say the same as the person above. good luck
Word has a pretty decent resume template that I used. It's a pain though with Jaws, does not read everything properly (at lesat not with Jaws 5) but it heped me develop mine. Basically you want your contact info on top (address, phone #s, email address). Important, don't use any nick names or such for an email address and do not use HotMail or Yahoo as your providers, I think gmail is ok. Use your name or variation of your name as your address not "perky_girl@hotmail.com). You need the resume to look professional.
Then list your education and years of attendance (post secondary education). In a separate section list your job experiences, if any. Then list your qualifications. I listed computer programs that I know (I listed Jaws, explaining what it is in parenths, this way I tell potential employers that I am blind without listing it separately, I don't think I should actively try to hide being blind but I also think it's silly to have to list it specifically on your resume'.
Mek the resume general, deail all the qualifications you think may be relevant, languages you know, any awards you may have reeceived, any societies you might belong to etc.
I can also send you my resume' if you need ideas. Also check if your college has a career services, they help you with composing CVs and resume's.
cheers
